Vita Vinea is a small vineyard owned by Dakishvili family that has been growing grapes and producing wine for nearly 10 decades. Saperavi, Rkatsiteli and Kisi are only made from grapes grown on the family owned vineyards. All wines are “estate bottled”. All wines are barreled and qvevri-aged in the wine cellar and released later than usually to allow them to develop and mature.
Lagvinari is a small organic winery in Georgia founded by Doctor Eko Glonti. He works closely with local, artisan grape growers and uses both-indigenous grape varieties and ancient winemaking techniques (fermenting grapes in kvevri), to promote sustainable Georgian farming and preserve its rich cultural heritage.
Pheasant’s Tears artisanal natural wines are produced according to ancient Georgian traditions. All wines are fermented and aged in qvevri, clay vessels lined with organic beeswax and buried in the earth. Natural fermentation helps to achieve wines of character and sophistication deeply rooted in the richness of the Georgian soil and Georgian culture.
Orgo winery collects grapes in several villages of Kakheti. Their Saperavi, Mtsvane and Rkatsiteli grapes are harvested on the right bank of the Alazani River from 50-80 years old vineyards. Sourcing from older vines is a rare and difficult project in Georgia since during Soviet times most older vines were ripped up and replaced so as to increase production. The low yield of these older vines creates more concentrated wines, and an absolutely unique spectrum of taste.
Jakeli family’s organic vineyard is set up at the picturesque place of Iori valley, full of field flowers, blackberry, sweetbrier and sea-buckthorn bushes bordering forestry mountains.
Unique combination of alluvial soils and peculiar local climate produces intense dark, rich in body, exquisite wine. Naturally, without any chemical nutrients and speed up of the vinification process, wine preserves personality and unique aroma of the terroir.
